Do you think the JVC GY-HMQ10 is worth $5000? (4k resolution)

I'm looking for a new camera and I want the best quality for $5000. This camera was shipped in April and I watched some youtube videos and it looks pretty damn good. Do you think it's worth $5000, and do you think a better company will come out with a 4k camera? I need it for making films. It has 24p so that means its good for making short films right?

4k doesn't make the image look better. I don't know this camera but I didn't like the image on the video link you posted. I think you have better options for that money, like the Sony FS100 for instance. You don't need 4k....

I've used it - it's a fine camera. If you feel you need 4k then it's
a great camera for you. Do you NEED 4k? Do you have the
computing power to use a 4k image?

I'm a long time JVC fan. It's a steal for a 4K camera, but as it's been said, if you don't need 4K you can get a better 1080p picture and better options out of a competing Sony or a Canon 5DmkII, etc...

frame rate and resolution don't have as much of an effect on the way a movie looks as you might think.

Panasonic will come out with an updated line sometime in the future, I'd rather wait for that than buy a JVC
