cinematography DIY florescent flood

You should be able to get a socket (and fixings) from your local hardware store. Those bulbs fit into regular sockets. Nothing special needed.

Not sure how efficient it would be as a flood-light, though. A large portion of the emitted light will be radiating from the sides; not like a typical cone-shaped, reflective-interior flood-light at all.
 
I was planing on fitting it coffin style with a reflector of some type. I know the socket is a standard item but I didn't think the bracket to mount onto a light stand would be. Thanks for your reply, I will have a look tomorrow.
