I'm new here but thought maybe you folks could help a bit.
My cronies and I have completed an action movie called "Sword Fighter" and were wondering what the first steps would be in distribution. Any help/advice would be greatly valued.

I've said this in another topic, but it applies here as well. Utilize the tools at your disposal. Go to Google (the best damn search engine, hands down) and search for small dist. companies that are looking for action flicks. Also look in the back of indie mags like Indie Slate and Filmmaker.
If you plan on self distribution, prepare to spend a lot of time and money tooting your own horn.
For a low budget action film, I suggest you look into the American Film Market. Depending on the story and cast, one of the film sales companies there might be interested. The next AFM will take place in Santa Monica in November 2004.
