Okay, so I was at work earlier, and thus unable to type anything of significance, but I did want to comment on this back-and-forth.
On the subject of whether or not this conversation belongs in a private email, or our own website, or whatever, I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned that some of this might be intended as promo, sort of. It is true, after all, that we're wanting one or two more people in the house. Perhaps someone who might be interested might want to know about the fact that we will be staging some massive Xbox tournaments.
Oh, and it's worth mentioning that there is a strong rumor circulating that the-one-and-only Bernie Lawson will be making a personal visit to the Death House (that's what I'm calling it, from now on, cuz it's catchy).
That being said, I can see how it might be mildly annoying to see so many different threads popping up. It might have the same effect of a "Question about _______" thread, or when all those people on Facebook keep commenting about the Dallas Cowboys.
So, that being the case, maybe it might be better to have one Deathworld thread, for all Deathworld-related topics? The obvious down-side is that they would no longer be neatly categorized, but the obvious upside is that silly little arguments like the one that just transpired would be less likely. Also, there might be some cross-over between conversations, so maybe one central conversation would be more prudent? Kind of like the production diaries that Nick and PTP have been doing? Truthfully, it doesn't matter to me, one bit, but maybe that'd be a good diplomatic solution.
Kholi -- I'm a big boy, and sometimes I like playing with fire.
Also, I'm well aware that this project could end up being a massive failure, but I'm optimistic about it, and I don't think anyone has been there, or done that. It all really hinges upon whether or not Nate is able to secure funding for phase 1 of the Deathworld project. If he's able to do that, then this will be a pretty big thing we're doing. If the funding doesn't come through, then we're just a bunch of dudes scrambling for survival money. Personally, I'm willing to take that risk, because even in the worst-case-scenario, I've forged new relationships with people whom I'll probably want to continue working with.
Nate -- Los Banos is farm country. I'm pretty sure my vicious guard dogs will keep us safe.
P.S. Go Seahawks!
