creating a scifi costume, need help with mask design materials

So I saw a youtube channel create a scifi costume, and the helmet he made connects to the costume using a round metal attachment that is locked on the costume part that the helmet connects to here is a link to the costume.

if you notice on the second picture there is a metal circular ring around his head that connects the helmet and im wondering what was used to do it, and also if anyone happens to know a way of building a similar helmet. The creator stated that the helmet gets no air as well so there is a tube that connects to the backpack in the second picture that gives him airflow as well, if anyone knows a way that would work as well, and thanks for any help!

P.S i tried asking the creator no response from him so this is my second best bet!

Thanks for the reply! I have already checked that site out. I am going for more of making my own then renting, considering the fact i want it made to the way I have it drawn out. I just need to know what material is needed to connect a helmet to a suit and what i could use to give airflow considering the mask would be air tight.

The key to sucess is...

Find a plastic garbage can\tub\bucket that fits over your head..
apply knife..

glue some bits on it.. see what happens..

me, Id start with something like this..

(as an aside.. , geeze what kinda idiot bets his brain on a $17 hunk of Chinese plastic?)

what you need is to develop skills that will help you work with what you find.

basic model building, sculpting, crafting, fabrication etc..

There are many, many DIY'er into this.. check COSPLAY sites for inspiration and resources..

get creative.. and get some tools..

Thanks, good idea. Ill check into cosplay sites as well. But my main concern here is that connector! there has to be a specific item that allows for an air tight seal that can be placed on the bottom of the helmet and the other piece on the top of the costume so that it looks the helmet in. I cant find something like this ANYWHERE.

Well, it doesn't _have_ to be air tight! =)

Searching for "snap clamp" and "strap clamp" I found this site:

http://www.gudo.com/en/view-all-gudo-products/clamp-fasteners.html

They don't seem to sell direct, but perhaps a visit to a ski store could procure something that you could figure out a way to attach one to your suit top, or helmet, and have it believably snap tight enough to look airtight?

on the new Battlestar Galactica flightsuits, they used metal fetish bondage collars. (Or so I'm told.)
