Color & Sound -- Spend time on it.

Just ran across this article that talks about an issue I've felt strongly about for a while, and something that I think many of us need to remind ourselves of on our projects.

Color Correction and Sound Design/final mix is an ESSENTIAL step in the filmmaking process. If you're not doing it, why?

Here's the link to the post on the blog.. which, incidentally is a pretty decent blog all around. (The latest post from yesterday talks about the RED)

Color Makes the Movie

It's gotta be done. It's like putting out a record w/o mastering it. Part of the process.

Sound is 50% of the experience of any movie. Why so few filmmakers take the time to record and mix good audio is a mystery to me.

Recording and eventually making ambient room tones to create a consistent sound takes a lot of time, but good googily, it's worth while.
