Chicago location shooting :)

Pretty fun stuff, Chicago is gonna be playing backdrop to an lot of 'big' movies coming up.

Yesterday I saw some guys in the grocery store around lunchtime that were all wearing 'crew' tshirts for various films. I wondered what the deal was, if something was filming, and then I see this article this morning :)

What do you think are the chances of being able to get on the set to watch? How should I go about it, who would be the best person to talk to? Am I crazy for even thinking that they might let me watch?

Detroit is getting a lot of this as well, what with our tax incentives for films. I've noticed quite a few announcements/calls for extras just in the regular city newspapers.

Kind of.

One or two people wanting to be on set watching
won't cause any problems. But the chances there
are hundreds (or at least dozens) of locals who
would love to get on the set to watch. Some aspiring
filmmakers, some fans of the actors. A set can't
accommodate that many people watching.

If they are shooting in a public place they will set a
perimeter. Anyone can watch from that public place.

The person you would contact would be the location
manager and the unit production manager.
