Canon 514 XL-S Wide Angle lens - any difference at this price?

Hi guys. I just bought a Canon 514 XL-S and I have the oppurtunity to get hold of a wide angle C8 lens for it. Firstly, is £30 a good price for this lens? Secondly does this lens actually make that much of a difference? Has anyone ever used this lens - I have had a look on youtube to see the camera with a C8 lens on it but I can't find any videos - does anyone have any sample shots - with and without the lens?

Any info would be really really appreciated as I have to make a decision pretty soon!

I own that camera. I once used the wide angle lens on it
because a friend of mine bought it. I did not like the way
it looked. Sorry I do not have the comparison I did those
many years ago.

No. It screws on to the front of the fixed lens. It distorts
the image and the edges are impossible to focus so you
get out of focus edged - not soft, out of focus.

Couldn't hurt to buy it, try it and if you don't like it, sell
it. If you like the look, it's a great investment.
