hey guys I have a random question and i can't seem to find the answer in the manual. I went to pick up my camera " Canon Vixa hf g10" and when I did, idk what I did but I hit something and the screen on my camera said " Auto power off" what does that mean? what did I do? camera works fine but it is just driving me crazy because I can't find and answer/

Quite possibly it turns off after a certain amount of time, so you had it on, not recording and then BING 2min later it auto offs. Heaps of cameras do this. Saves your battery 
Hey thanks for the reply, but the camera never shut off, you are right though i had it sitting on my bed while I was looking something up and when I went to grab it, the side screen said " AUto Power off" and the camera stayed on on immediately after wards, it never shut off ever.
So it stayed in even though it said auto power off? Did you touch any buttons/zoom/touch screen? If you touch something quick enough auto power off can be cancelled
you moved it, you touched it.. if it has any kind of electronic stabilization then it has movement sensors...
cmon man, basic scientific experimentation will answer your question. Don't they teach ANYTHING useful in school anymore..

3) observe
Did the camera display a auto shut down message? Write down the answer
Did the camera shut down automatically? Write down the answer
Now, change ONE variable, i.e. the auto shut off setting in the cameras menu.
Repeat your experiment.
