cinematography Camera De-Synced With Self

So, I have a cannon gl1, and on my last import the image and the audio tracks (from in camera recorder) are *quite* out of sync from one another. It doesn't matter all that much, but it does make it a little harder for me to sync the actual sound to the image. Anyway, is this likely a camera problem, or something that happened during an import? Do cameras ever de-sync from themselves?

What software are you using?

It's possible you shot the footage at one framerate and Pro Tools, Nuendo, Avid or whatever you are using is set to another frame rate.

It was just a "capture now" import into FCE using, I believe, the same settings that I have for the rest of the project and it hasn't been a problem until this tape.

Maybe it's the tape.

I have used DigiBetas before that the timecode stripe was messed up and we couldn't use that tape.
