BUG Sound FX

There's no specific sound effects sub-forum so I just put it here...

Anyone know a great *free* place to get some bug sound effects, not lame sounding if possible. Something like a fly, or a night time bug around lights is what I'm interested in.

On a side note what is the quickest/easiest way to remove sound hiss/noise.

Thanks in advance!

not really, the setup is pretty simple for freesound.org. It keeps tracks of all your downloads and you can get a report of your downloads with all the attributions information needed. Then you just paste that info right into a PPRO tittle or whatever software and jam it in your credits.

I had to come up with the sounds of screaming roaches. I went into the closet and recorded myself making these silly sounds:

ROACH DRY.wav

Then, I put the sounds into Adobe Premiere and used some Audio FX - Pitch Shifter (+12 semitones), Highpass filter and some Reverb.

ROACH EFFECTED.wav

You can see/hear the results, starting at the 6 minute mark:

Yes, those are a bit exaggerated, but they are very bug-like. You can record yourself "Bzzzzzing" and use those same FX, plus maybe some quick panning - Left, Right, Left - to simulate a bug flying around

You can use a program like Sound Soap. In a pinch, a low pass filter will take out hiss, though you need to be careful about affecting the audio you want heard.
