Black Comedy...

I'm looking stuff that uses black comedy, both TV and film
My knowledge of the stuff is... Fairly limited to... Bret Easton Ellis books and adaps (i.e. American Psycho) Catch 22 and TV like Six Feet Under and Dexter.
Fire away :)

The british version (haven't seen the american) of Death at a Funeral is certainly a black comedy...

I think black comedies are stories that are simply so morbid and terrible that we don't think there could be any relief in it, then there's a joke that provides comedic relief, and we then come to terms with that morbid and terrible thing (eg: death).

I can only think of one off the top of my head. But black comedies are my favorite, so I'll update as I think of more.

Barton Fink (Cohen Brothers)
Dr. Strangelove (Kubrick)
Visioneers
Hairspray (John Waters)
Cecil B Demented (John Waters)
(actually, just watch anything by John Waters)
Netherbeast, Inc
Worlds Greatest Dad
Death Becomes Her
Mother (Albert Brooks)
The Ladykillers (Cohen Brothers)
Drop Dead Gorgeous
So I Married an Ax Murderer
