On a side note, as far as I can tell this is by FAR the most heavily traffic site of it's kind. I go on several others and the action here is frenetic by comparison. Also the most dedicated to "filmmaking" as opposed to just being a gearhead circle jerk.

Without linking to them, there's at least one site I frequent more often that gets a few thousand filmmakers a day visiting, and constantly commenting. The filmmaking subsection of that forum is pretty active and extensive.

I think the OP's concern is the nepotism on the site, which is understandable since this is a much smaller community.

Just the mechanics of forums altogether.
