Best CHEAP camcorder

Hey ya'll,

I'm a college student looking to get into some more serious filmmaking. I'm still working with a 7 year old digital SD camcorder and am looking for a cheap upgrade. Does anyone know of anything like this that they would reccomend?

Thanks!

Kinduva oxymoron.

For a strict "camcorder" try a Canon Vixia HF M40 or M400

But for more image flexibility you gotta go with a DSLR, try the Canon t2i or t3i.

Good luck!

I agree with rayw. I was in the same position and got a t3i. I was torn between the t2i, t3i and another camera. i got the t3i and i love it.

but i recomend looking at the Sony SLTA35 Digital SLR Camera. price is really good. but the drawback is you cant slect any options in video mode like the t2i or t3i. you have to look at what you want to do. your budgit and option you want in your camera..

I disagree with ray.

One can get more serious abut their filmmaking and still
use an inexpensive camera. There is so much more to
making a movie than the camera.

BroadwayBaby, check out the Canon R30, Canon R32,
Panasonic HC-V700 and the Sony HDR-CX160.

@directorik what you recommend more? something like Samsung HMX-Q20 ?
If that's all you can afford then it's a fine camera to buy.

Audio is very, very important when making movies so a mic input
is important. You will need a good shotgun mic in a boom pole to
get acceptable audio. If you use a camera that doesn't have a mic
input then you need to buy an audio recorder, too. An added expense.
