Been embedding keywords etc in your video files?

Yahoo.com has now added "Video Search" to their list of specific web searches.

(Altavista.com did it a bit earlier)

What does this mean?

It means people can search for exclusively video files that match their criteria, without having to sort through actual webpages about them.

Most video software allows you to enter all kinds of text into its description file, that is made when first rendering the media output.

People can now search for "conspiracy internet seti" (for example  ) as things they are interested in, and just get back a list of actual video that fit that. (Well, since I neglect to add this info it is not likely listed)

This is great for people looking to view entertainment practically tailored to their specifications.

Even more, a filmmaker with savvy use of keywords and other metas now is able to give their viewers exactly what they want... or perhaps just stand out ahead of the pack in certain genres.

Yes, the ability to add all this extra information has been around a while... just no real way to seperate it from the rest of the non-related plain webpages that would outnumber actual viewable media by a million to one. (Well, that's just a guess... but you get the point).

So take a few minutes to fill in those fields of extra information when rendering your final media. It actually means something now. :)
