"Squad 77" our previous film got picked up by a secular
distributor "Westlake Studios" and Pheonix Ent. Group and I'm not sure
what will happen with it..I never hear from them, don't expect a dime,
but the street date is Sept 25th...it's already online at Bestbuy,
Target, Curciut City, Barnes and Noble, ect..all the major ones..so
I'm thankful for the nationwide exposure and I "think" we might be in
blockbuster sometime after that...anyway, they totally changed the
artwork and what's going to happen with it, but it's cool to see it
show up in those outlets and it will air on JC-TV also
So, for something with no budget I'm fairly happen with the end
results two years later..and the learning experience of how
distribution and retail work was invaluable. Once you get national
distribution..that's one thing, but you really have to have a big
marketing budget to make it really go-regardless...so once again, we
are out there without a marketing budget and we'll see how it goes in
this re release! I am now a lot more savvy on how to get nationwide distribution and who to go thru...there are so many options and never sign an "exclusive" deal without upfront payment...you can work more than one distributor at a time..I found a company I think is pretty good for our next release and he deals non exclusively and gets into the same outlets bestbuy, ect..so this whole distribution and retail game is something else...quite a learning experience..
