Hey, just wondering if I could be given a starting point for art films to watch. I wont list all that kinda stuff i've watched as I don't have time, but if anyone suggests something I have watched, I'll say.
Thanks![]()

Works by Maya Darren. She was part of the west coast experimental film folks in the 60s/70s.
Wow 1943... I was off a bit.

Here's another of hers that I really like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD088nkJlD4&feature=related
She also did some ethnographic documentation as well of dance and martial arts... which as an anthropologist makes me happy.
Oh I like that. Very lovely. She wasn't unattractive, was she? Those Russian girls. The camera liked her, I think. It helps to keep the viewer interested. I would think that she could have had mainstream success as a leading lady. Maybe the Biz didn't see her that way. I suppose she was a counter culture kind of a gal, so perhaps she had no interest in it. Looking at her Wikipedia page, it looks like she was a pretty interesting person. God, dead at 44. And yet here we are watching her on Youtube, her youthful beauty and mystique captured for...well, probably not for all time, but for us here and now anyway.![]()
