Adobe AE (Student Version) ?

What's the difference between the student version and the original? Are there less functions in the student version or something? Or is it just the price that's different because students get a discount?

The only difference is the license agreement. The program itself is exactly the same. Students get it much cheaper for educational purposes because the user agreement states you can't make a profit from using the software.

" The Student and Teacher Editions can be utilized for personal as well as commercial use. And after graduation or completion of coursework, you can continue to use the software. "

I also went to the adobe website and i got a pop up asking if i needed help. I clicked it and chatted with a person named Patrick (Adobe Representative).

I asked him
"what's the difference between the student version of AE and the original?"

He replied
"The contents and features of both the versions are same except that we give discounts to students and teachers."

Then i asked
"can the student version be used for commercial purposes?"

He replied
"Yes, you can surely do that."

I also checked out the faqs of the site:
Can I use my Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software for commercial use?
- Yes. You may purchase a Student and Teacher Edition for personal as well as commercial use.
