5d to Computer to VHS

Hi folks.

I'm shooting a music video and I'd like to do a bit of 'Alien Isolation' as in get my edit onto a vhs tape to mess about with. Anyone got any advice on how to do that? (currently googling so I may find a solution myself).

Just wondered if anyone has every done anything like this?

Do you have a VHS machine? Do you have access to a VHS machine?

There are several digital to analog converters available.

I have done it - mostly the other way (VHS to digital) - but evry once in a while
I get a request to convert digital video to analog.

I do indeed have a vcr and a mountain of tapes.

You could always burn the project to DVD, then record that to VHS. All you'll need is a scart-to-scart lead between your DVD player and your VCR.

I've sort of fudged it by putting onto a dvd, then into an old tv and just filming the tv. Might go that route again...

What about skipping the computer and connecting the camera directly to the VCR via the A/V cables?

Probably grainy, with the horizontal line bands, which could well be the look he was after.

That was a video I did a few years ago. Just wanted to get it a bit more 'VHSy' if you know what I mean. Works fine though.

That video was incredible. I was searching VHS and found this. Personally, I'm focusing on more glitchy texture than narrative, but I dig the look of this.
