Thats what I was thinking, got the dual mono so i'll give it a try but dont want to fall into the habit of thinking that way. pretty good day of shooting though.
Technically 0dB is "over" and is distortion. Most digital recorders and other digital audio software/hardware is designed to register 0dB 1-5 tenths of a dB below 0dB. Seems like in this case you may have been lucky and just registered 0dB on the meters rather than actually hitting it. You should listen to the audio file extremely carefully, if you don't have accurate metering software, to make sure you didn't clip.
