DSLR drains power when turned off.

While DSLR does drain battery even when it is shut off, it going THAT fast isn't natural. Could possibly be the battery. Does it do it to all batteries?

DSLR drains power when turned off.

DSLR's do drain power when off. The best thing you can do is remove the battery when the camera is off. It can be a pain to do so but it will save you some time.

    Monitors on set worth it?

I'd say work with what you have. The bigger monitor will allow you to check focus a little better but if it is easier for you to bring a smaller monitor then I'm sure that will work fine enough too. A few years ago I used an old 16 inch CRT television as a monitor. The color/lighting you see...

Would an old Canon battery work for a 60D?

Cool, thanks. Yeah the 60D arrived today and I noticed that right away. Oh well. I have 2 batteries to start anyway.

Would an old Canon battery work for a 60D?

I have an old canon battery from the Canon Gl1 days and was wondering if it is okay to use on a 60D. In the past I know you could use Panasonic batteries for any Panasonic camera (I own a DVX100b) but I'm not sure how it would relate to an DSLR. If it helps the Canon battery model I have is...

Question about audio for the Canon 60D

I might end up recording sound separately a lot of the time but there will be situations where I'm a one-man band and would need to record audio into the camera directly.

    60D

Thanks for the reply. For short films and industrial videos I would record to an external source like an h4n. But if for some reason I was a one-man crew for a day it would be a little more difficult to do so. I was thinking about purchasing a Beachtek adapter that is made for SLR cameras so I...

    60D

Has anyone here used the 60D? I hear the image quality is at least comparable to the 7D and it has a swivel LCD screen and manual audio control. For anyone who has used it I'm curious your opinions? Would it work for weddings as well as short films and industrial videos?

Question about audio for the Canon 60D

Thanks. I wonder if anyone can confirm that the 60D does have a 3.5mm audio input. Checked several websites for the specs and didn't turn up with something. Almost positive it does but I figure someone on here would know for sure.

Question about audio for the Canon 60D

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. I have an old Beachtek adapter I used to use when I shot with a Canon GL1. It allowed me to use XLR mic's with the GL1 as there was no XLR input on that camera. The model of the beacktek adapter was DXA-4P. I know beachtek makes an adapter...

    New

Hey everyone! Obviously new here. I have been making short films for about 5 years now. Did the whole film school thing with a craft track in writing/directing which of course didn't really help when I moved to NYC last fall looking for work. Hard to get any kind of job without a lot of...
