Any other girls on this forum?

Hi Leah, I am a female set constructor, scenic artist, set dresser, and props maker. I actually work closely with a female production designer in the independent film industry of the Bay Area. I have to admit that even though women are making their marks in the film industry, it still does...

view trailer for September, a new drama based on 9/11

"It's a good idea, but for some reason, to me, it just seems flat. I get no emotion when watching it, and I get very emotional about September 11th usually." I agree with Poke. But, looking forward to the updates.

    Silly Wee Films

Oh yeah, that's totally true. You'll never learn until you do...Like I said, I couldn't say much about the black leather jacket and shades because I couldn't think of anything better either. I mean, you could do camouflage, but that just seems too military. Black leather is cool, sleek, and...

    Silly Wee Films

Night is Day I think this one is a potential set up for cool spfx and action sequences. It kind of sounds like a rendition of The Crow and Batman. But, why is it that all heroes with a dark past have to be clothed in black leather with sunglasses? I know it's cliche, but I can't say much...

What exactly does a line producer do?

As far as responsibilities, is he/she any different than a production manager? I need to help a L.A. producer find one in Louisiana for a low budget film he will be filmming there.

    Check out their documentaries

Hey, for those of you who are really liberal and cultural...This company is an underground documentary film production. My brother just started working with them and I know the sound guy who worked on their latest, Axis of Evil. I just watched Axis of Evil and if you like Documentaries, this...

SPFX WORKSHOP-We are accepting applications now

This guy is trying to get a SPFX props and prop making workshop started in Chicago. But, if he doesn't have the student enrollment, then he won't be able to hold the workshop. I think this would be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to do props for film because he has a lot of good...

How do you want to be remembered?

Yeah, I'd have to say maybe option #2 for me as well. I'm a crafty artist and there are somethings that I like to do more than others, but I'm always willing to open up to new things.

If you could work with anyone, who would it be?

Does it have to be ONE person? Because I want to work for the WETA workshop. I think all of their artists are so talented.

    What's your age again?

That's sweet of her. I told my sister when she turned 25 that she was a quarter of the way to being a century old and only half way to 50! She knew I was just joking with her but she still didn't think it was very funny. Now that I will be turning 25 at the end of this year, I know why.

    Just Wondering

This is all true, but I guess I should clarify for my friends' sakes...they mean his "new style" as in a brighter choice of story b/c it's not his usual dark story. I don't know if I'm making sense here. But, a lot of them didn't like the story and couldn't even sit through it to watch it or...

    I am a...

I chose "other" b/c I'm a props/scenic artisan who wants to work for film but so far has only done it for theatre. So, I couldn't exactly say "filmmaker" or any of the others.

    "We can't pay money, but...."

I'd have to say a one-on-one art tutor who'd be willing to do so out of pure heart b/c I've always drawn and crafted things as a hobby of mine since I was little, but never taken any art classes and now I wished I had to get the basic techniques down, but I can't afford to pay for art classes or...

my new idea for a film

I think it's great that there are potential filmmakers out there who are starting so young b/c it gives you time to grow with the passion of it all. Many who go to film school like to think they know it all already and that's where they go wrong. If you ever attend one, you'll see what I mean...
