editing Any good freeware editing software for the Mac?

I'm more interested in Pic and Audio quality than fancy SFX. I'll post my results here. Any ideas? http://jaypeeonline.net/freeware/free-video-editing-software-mac/ http://macapper.com/2008/01/10/mac-os-x-freeware-list/

    sound Mic Placement Question?

I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I hope an expert'll be along soon. I just posted to wish you luck. Your script was pretty interesting and you have the makings of a good scene. Don't forget to improvise and brainstorm lines if you have the budget/DV tape. That should really bring her...

    Threat Level Midnight

I saw that yesterday. It was a good scene... They bounced off each other well.

    Threat Level Midnight

The British knew when to stop. The Yanks didn't. But if they're making money and having fun, then kudos to them. UK/US face off here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anN_L-JiyIA

Experienced Directors. Your first films. They sucked, right?

I just saw Germanity... Some of the shots were great, and way better than average Indie fare. The creeping zoom down the aisle towards the priest stuck in my mind. The music and sound design was well thought out. The flashback/out-of-time shooting came together nicely at the end. I was nicely...

    I just purchased....

I just found this thread. I'm considering getting a t2i myself. Your stills have a great look to them, and make a pretty inspiring advert for the T2i. In theory, the video should be the same quality, but once it goes through conversion to mp4, then youtube... most people are going to see it two...

Anyone here gone and made a full out feature on the T2i or 7D?

Anything past 1000 dollars retail and you're getting into decent prosumer territory.

    Happy Birthday, Insert Cliche Here!!

Haha I just watched it now. * On a bad day, it's just like the first part of that clip. When a class drags, it's like running your nails over poisoned chalk. When it goes well, you're getting paid to have fun. I learnt a huge amount about the world teaching English to foreigners.

Some Ogg files won't convert. Why?

I converted the videos with no sound, at a lower bitrate, and they seem to work OK... I'll try to dl Super.

Welcome. It's a 24 hour film school here.

Some Ogg files won't convert. Why?

When I stick a bunch of ogg video files through a batch converter, about half of them convert fine. When I load the others into my editing software, I get a message like: "general import error" or something similar. I can't remember the exact wording. So why do some convert OK, and others not...

Who owns the copyright to this verision of Beethovens Ninth?

I was a couple of sheets to the wind when I made this thread. I didn't think of asking the guy who posted the video.

    Panasonic HDC-TM700?

Yup, the 7D is a better camera... but it's also double the price. I've heard of people getting them for around a thousand dollars. I'm saving money at the moment. The HVX is a step up, sure, but I haven't seen any outstanding footage shot with it yet. Everything looks too real, and slightly...

    Technical Singularity At Oxford University

It's interesting that they can make computers that can do gazillions of calculations, and whoop our asses at chess, but they can't translate accurately or do other simple human tasks.

Thanks AA, I was looking for the owner of that specific recording. One day I'll license it...

editing Simple After Effects 3D buildings

It still looks fine to me. I was prolly being too picky. Your animation is miles ahead of mine. It took me half an hour to make some hexagons rotate properly the other day.

    Happy Birthday, Insert Cliche Here!!

It's your birthday thread so you can complain if you want. It sucks to be out of work. I thought you were just moaning about wrinkles or something. Even though your CV might not show lots of experience, you have life experience + a good attitude, which is important for an employer. Have you...

    Panasonic HDC-TM700?

Dammit you've got me hooked now. This is an inspiring film shot on that camera. One of the best shorts I've seen recently. Great colors and good visual storytelling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3kBHQ2rtgM&feature=related

    Panasonic HDC-TM700?

There's something about Panasonic's colours that just give it the edge over Canon, for me. When I look with my head, Canon's are sharper, but when I relx and use my heart, Panasonic's vids pull me in more. The grain looks a little like S-16 footage. It's grainy but bearable. But a 7D is still...
