I agree. I think every good film you can think of includes important symbolism. Besides, straight-on, direct movies are unlikely to be 'discussed and studied' afterwards. Symbolism just keeps the viewers engaged, even during the second viewing.

I don't think it's a bad idea but it definitely doesn't sound completely new or original. But I think if you manage to find a certain touch for it that would make it stand out on its own, then it's certainly something worth writing.
