editing $5000 for an editing workstation?

I pretty much agree with everything freddiew said : http://www.rocketjump.com/blog/why-were-switching-from-macs AND Nofilmschool : http://nofilmschool.com/build-a-hackintosh/ Except for their Macbooks and OSX, it's just getting ridiculously overpriced.

editing $5000 for an editing workstation?

Dude, I hope you made some kick ass movies to justify all this. Where are they ? :D @OP : Do you REALLY need to stay on MAC ? Everybody is moving away from MAC (Freddiew for one). If for some reason, you have absolutely no other choice, then go hackintosh buy don't buy a mac workstation...

I don't know what the intention was with this effect but I'm pretty sure you can do much better than this.

Canon 50D now shoots RAW better than the rebel line

This is going nutser by the second. Get ready for a crazy price jump on second hand 50Ds (like the GH2).

How to do a long, destructive, follow shot?

This is probably the most amazing one take fight sequence I've ever seen. It's done by amateur filmmakers but they are professional stuntman and martial artists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq_mClHZ3VM

How does this guy's camera get so bright at night?

I'm pretty sure that's not 1.4. Also, for a static shot, you don't need the respect the 180° shutter angle. You can try shooting it at 1/30.

Don't use lenses. You never get lens flares if you don't use lenses in the first place !

    Star Trek Into Darkness

Lol, I'd think that's the kindda of thing you need to figure out before even starting typing the script. Single-timeline stories are hard to pull off. If you want someone to read it, I'd be up for it !

He did. But he also understood soon enough what happened (when taking the Captain captive) and didn't take a hint from it, keeping his vengeance scheme instead.

    Star Trek Into Darkness

Cool. But how is this B-roll ? There are actual narrative scenes in there. Also, there was an IMAX camera. I had no idea the movie was part IMAX.

    Star Trek Into Darkness

I wish we had a TV series with high VFX quality like the recent Scifi features (from star wars 123 onward). I'm not a Trekkie at all but I'd watch the heck out of a modern Star Trek tv show.

    editing Syncing Workflow

I think I perfectly understood how that works. So far, it's the best technique I've heard of. So there is no standard way to do it when you can't work with Timecode, everyone does it his way ?

    editing Syncing Workflow

That's not the issue. I feel frustrated not being able to convey what I want to say :( The question is "how". I have the audio and I have the video and I want every video file to be synced to its own audio file so that when I actually dive into the edit, I see the video file and listen to the...
