    Filming in extreme conditions?

It's mudder swamp buggy type footage. Lots of goop slinging, and water spraying.. Nobody has done it under 24p and with a high quality image, so I am looking to get close with quality. I will check out the BBC show for sure!

    Filming in extreme conditions?

Did anyone see the Deadliest Catch episode about filming?! It was amazing.. definitely must watch! The cameramen are filming through waves, ice and snow.. Does anyone have a favorite way to rig a DSLR for these kind of conditions? I have some mud/sand/dust/swamp/rain conditions I need to...

Abaci, I'll be the very first person on the internet to apologize.. As I read back, I agree with your last comment, and I think I was just being a high strung and overly protective guy. The secret, is that I really like these guys personally. My apologies. Moving on to the vid topic, Turns...

....what was your worst/best gear purchase.

Worst: ...What piece of kit did you buy that you thought you HAD to have, but it went under-used or never-used in the long run...? Best: ...What piece of kit did you buy that you didn't know until later that you could not live without it?! --------------------------

The music is not for everyone for sure.. but, if you have any outlaw tenancies there is a good chance you will come around. There are a lot of rednecks/hicks out there, that are tired of line dancing, but don't want to dance to songs about jewelry and gang life.

    Indie Feature Film Equipment?

Noob here too, so I feel your pain.. IMO, drop the steady cam, and watch some tutorials about using the tripod as a weighted stabilizer, then decide if you really need it. Also, buy some cheap Amazon reflectors. I think I got a 40 inch for 14USD. It is a very powerful, yet cheap tool...

    After effects workflow question

Ahh.. Cool, seems like there are a couple ways to skin this cat. .. This is going to be a music video and I have several performances that I am lining up to one master audio track.. Then I am editing by cutting to different performances. If i can't render across the whole video, I am worried...

    After effects workflow question

If I want to have an effect (like vignetteing) throughout an entire video, does it make sense to do it on individual clips, or apply it to the final edit? I have some fiddly, vocals to line up.. so it would be helpful if I could render on the final edit. ...but, I don't want to create a...

    *** I want all the credit!!! ***

In your case, one trick is to do several micro projects and do role switching. Eventually, people will gravitate towards roles they are best at. Reality issues will hit very quickly when you start your project.. better to have it hit on a micro goal, than a huge goal. If I were in your...

    *** I want all the credit!!! ***

People worrying about credit before the project even starts, is a red flag off the bat. Its a sign of someone who is not intrinsically motivated. In the least, it hints at someone not being just motivated about the project and process. But, I'll admit I'm bad, and have always been bad at...
