    archived-videos Sci-Fi Fest 48hr film

Hey everyone, Here's a link to the latest short film that I helped out on as second unit cinematographer (basically involved getting shots for the VFX guys). The film was made in two days for the Sci-fi London 48 hour competition. I had to pick a prop, a line of dialogue and a title for our...

    inexpensive dslr shouldermount

If you're on a budget, this is pretty good: http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/index.php?t=product/cvp_shoulder_mount (& I think I've seen this even cheaper on ebay) I have one, and whilst I'm not claiming its anywhere near the standard of the £500 ones, which I have also used, it's much better...

    Questions about Follow Focus

I have the exact same kit. Having looked into all the follow focus options and even attempted to build my own, I have concluded that, unless you've got £500+ to play with, you might aswell just learn to follow focus manually. I'd spend the money on more lenses.

    What lenses?

First, try shooting some stuff with just the kit lens, it's versatile enough for some great experiments. For low-light conditions; the wider the aperture on the lens (the lower the f.number) the more light can be let in, and therefore the more versatile it is for low-light. Also, the wider the...

Return of Cinema - Experimental Short Film

Love it, very post-modern and thought provoking. I could easily see this as an installation in a gallery. Keep up the good work, experimental films often don't get the appreciation I think they deserve. Smith

    SDHC Cards - Recommendations?

If the 60D has the same card requirements as the 550D, and I assume it has, then you need at least a class 6 SDHC card for it to function properly.

    archived-videos Love: A Mental Illness - Trailer

Thanks for the comments so far guys, @ Dready, cheers, we had a theatre technician come down to the set to fill the wood with smoke for us :) @ Jrsmithson, yeah the rule break is intentional in that scene to convey the frantic pace of the argument (in the actual film there is a shot that spins...

    Community Project - Starts Now

I think the problem with this idea is, to most people on this forum, it will sound like: "Hey I'm new here. Everyone send me sexually explicit footage please. k thnx bye" Sounds like that to me... If you'd have chosen, "making breakfast", "car chase", "argument" etc. you wouldn't be in the...
