    Recording dialogue in moving car

Hello, how should I do this? 4 actors in the car that is moving and a dialogue scene. 4 actors that all are speaking and I would like to capture the whole scene from start to finish without cuts (without moving cameras or mics) I have zoom h1, Rode video Mic pro and of course new items can...

    GoPro cameras incar

Hello, do you have any experience about using GoPro cameras in film work. More precisely : -4 people in a small car -using 3-4 cameras to capture the whole scene (incar) -audio will be captured using external device if I do this and then use external video (outside the car) from DSLR camera...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

    1. Edge of Tomorrow 3/5 Quite ok movie, nothing special expect the Groundhog Day plot idea. 2. Oblivion 4/5 A bit better than #1, still not a classic but quite clever movie anyway. 3. Snowpiercer 1/5 Awful in every way. Logic, where are you?? 4. Mama 4/5 Stylish jump scare movie. Feels a...

how the hell do you put feature film idea on a paper?

I start with characters, what they motives are and what is the main idea of the film. My current project has a 87 pages and I wrote it in 7 days, previous project 70 pages and three months. But usually when you get the basic idea, at least for me it is quite easy to start to write trough...

    editing Flashbacks color correction options

Hi, I didn't plan in before the shoot how to create the flashback scenes, of course they were in the script anyway. I think I will not get a pro on this one, have already one guy mixing the movie, that's much more important for me than color correction anyway. Tint was ok but nothing...

    New lens seems very dark?

4.0 value is no good for low light shooting, but I think at least in the daylight you should be able to use the lens correctly. What aperture value did you use? is there a filter attached to the lens?

    editing Flashbacks color correction options

I did previously use Tint 50% option in Premiere, this basically means that 50% of the colors are removed and it kind of works, but just wondering if there would be a better option as well. It is a noir film, so just wondering if there is a typical noir solution as well.

    editing Flashbacks color correction options

Hi, please advice, I have a lot of flashbacks in my feature film, how should I color correct them so they would have different style than rest of the material? B&W is not an option, I need to think something else.

When do you know you should give up?

My feature film, that was published in February this has now over 15 000 views in youtube. This does not mean that film is good but I have done some work related to search words and how to optimize the views. Also the movie is a feature, a fact that helps a lot since most of the search words...

Does page count matter when writing a horror screenplay?

First feature had 68 pages and first cut was under 50 minutes, then I did reshoot and final film was 70 minutes (24fps). If you are planning to create a feature film and after the shoot realize you have 50 minutes of material, well that is not a good place to be:) Second feature has 87 pages...

editing Finally I think I might have it..."cinematic feel"

Too dark and too much green is my honest opinion. The best is the shot from submarine, but I think it has too much green color as well. I think that even in outside, if you could use a filter in front of the camera, you could limit the light and get a nice shallow focus to your images. Those...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Luc Besson collection films: The Fifth Element : 5/5 This is a great sci-fi film. Specially extreme well edited. Subway: 3/5 Really nice style, not so interesting plot or characters. Le Dernier Combat (The Last Battle) 4/5 Extreme well made and kind of interesting film. A bit slow at times...

New To Forum And DSLR's Confused And Need Guidance

Canon 50mm 1.8 is seriously good value for money, around 120e new. Really tricky to use tough when shooting inside, but still recommended. If you have the lenses available, then basic Canon DSLR should do the trick. I am using 550d + magic lantern software for feature purposes. Just remember...

Is It a Safe Bet to Buy a Used DSLR or Mirrorless/Hybrid-something for Video?

Over 40 shooting days in two features with my second-hand bought Canon 550d and no problems so far. The camera cost was 400e, if I would rent the equipment then the bill would be around 4000e by now (100e/day). The risk to loose your money is quite small if you are buying basic DSLR cameras...

GIVE ME THE POWER TO MAKE SOMETHING EPIC! LOW BUDGET WITH A BIG PAYOUT!

I think the trailer alone should give some kind of idea about the quality of the film. And if after seeing the trailer the customer still wants to see the movie, well no point to ask a refund after that :) But in the same time, if all the movie makers would be wise and experienced and wait...

working out who / what is required for your feature film crew

I am creating my third feature now and the crew is me and the actors, no one else. It is a nightmare but in the same time great to go trough massive project like this and have full control about everything. Audio is the hardest thing, both capturing it and mixing it is difficult.
