The benefits of using union actors is quality. Its not terribly easy to get into SAG. Usually those in the union have payed their dues and have the background to back up their acting. If you have great actors with great chops that aren't in the union you don't need to have union actors.

I'm with everyone else...however I do think overall I really like the effect your going for and your clips alone look great. Just less cuts, show a piece and move on to the next...I wouldn't go back and forth.

Meh....Personally I'd go with the Canon 50 mm 1.8. You'll be much happier with the quality of video. I feel like the kit lens was kind of a waste... I own it and never use it. I got a Tokina 28-70mm 2.8 and love it for all around shooting. Its a little more expensive, but i found mine used...

I'm actually really big into improv (I study at the groundlings and have studied second city). I think throwing actors who have no training in improv isn't necessarily a bust. Some people are more comfortable improvising than others....the training helps you get it to be usable and worthwhile...
