Do we all really hate 3-D?

I can wait for the Hobbit 1 & 2 to come out on 3D bluray... to watch over and over... can't wait. More information --- Active glasses (even our out-dated IR 3D glasses, the current technology is replacing them with rechargable bluetooth active 3D glasses) will always be far superior over any...

    Mayan 2012 Production in Mexico

I have an open time share (for several weeks) throughout Mexico each year. I was just down there exploring and shooting footage at many of the Mayan ruins and country side south of Playa Del Carmen (towards Belize). BE AWARE, that they do NOT allow you into Mexico without approval on pro video...

Do we all really hate 3-D?

Where I am coming from (perspective) --- I have a 73" high def TV (got it new and cheap with no shipping charges and no taxes), bought a new tech 3D (2D to 3D) Bluray player at 50% off, have the old-style, IR glasses (bought a bunch at 60% off due to the company going with bluetooth 3D glasses)...

A more economical alternative to the Red?

I agree with Richy's comments above. Having played with the three cameras I mentioned on page 1 of this thread -- the bottom line is how much money do you have to spend? The F3 (camera choice 1) is awesome! AND open-ended for new technology Sony has planned in the short run and long run...

A more economical alternative to the Red?

I am probably not as 'informed' or up-to-date on high-end tech cameras as everyone else seems to be on Indietalk.com. I cannot afford a RED (and all the parts that it takes to make a whole, viable camera unit). I am also biased, cause I really like Sony equipment. I am still using several Sony...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Note -- we have a 73" high definition TV with 3D and high-end surround sound -- so we really get to view (and hear) these movies in a perfect setting. CONAN -- (3D Bluray -- bought it new and cheap) I believe that Robert E Howard would have approved this version of Conan with high fives, thumbs...

    End of the World

On Thursday, Archeologists in Mexico, reported that they have just discovered in a Tortuguero site (State of Tabasco, Mexico) more Mayan Long Count Calendar clues on what will supposedly happen on Dec. 13, 2012 when the 13th Baktun ends... Bolon Yokte, a mysterious Mayan God of war & creation...

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I am not a Thanksgiving Nut, but do have a full day. Will be shooting a family and friend's dinner, from the hip and an out-of-the-way camera on tripod. Edit and transfer to DVD-R. Send 'em out before Christmas. Always getting invited to everything (by everyone)... These memories on DVD-R will...

One thing I hate about micro-budget filmmaking.

I am one that is always looking, taking notes. Have a couple of DVcam cameras (with fully charged batteries), LED lights and audio recorders in the trunk of my car. Always looking for 'perfect' sites -- those 'perfect' backgrounds and locations to incorporate into my stories... I am always...

    End of the World

While I do not agree with some of the above comments... I read all comments, several times (and took notes) -- I appreciate all the comments made on this thread. Thank you. It is hard at times, to get out side one's own head for different perspectives, views and opinions. As a (poor)...

    End of the World

Okay, I read a lot. Thus. Have many ideas for stories, no time to put on paper and/or complete most (99%er). Thought this might be fun. Not a challenge. But curious and creative fun. How will the earth end? Or how will humanity see it's last sunrise. Check this out... End of the World. I would...
