Thanks for the advice. Yes I have considered using actual strobe lights, but unfortunately i'm on a 'low-no budget', plus it's only for a 30 second film. Waving my hands about in front of a light might work really well, thanks for that!

Everyone's different. Personally I would just say, If you have an idea, write it down. Keeping a notebook or something next you you while you sleep so you can write down any ideas you get during the night from dreams etc is also helpful.
