    Are Generic Ringtones Copyrighted?

Hey guys, Just wondering if generic ringtones for mobile phones are copyrighted? I assume the "standard" Nokia and Apple ones would be. What do people generally do when they need to have someone answering a call? Thanks in advance.

Super nOOB here. Question about makeup

That's the thing ... We'll be shooting throughout the Australian summer so sweat is going to be unavoidable. In almost all circumstances sweating will also be justified within the story. With this in mind, would my best option be to avoid makeup and use oil-absorbing sheets in between takes...

Super nOOB here. Question about makeup

To prevent glare or reduce imperfections? If sweat is unavoidable (shooting inside a car on a hot day) what's the best way to go about it? Thanks!

Super nOOB here. Question about makeup

Will oil-absorbing sheets be enough or do you really think makeup is necessary?

    Quality wireless lavelier mics

Thanks a lot for the advice. The Lectrosonics are what he's after ... Just can find anywhere that hires them where I'm from. Might have a couple of other questions so I'll no doubt be back. Thanks again

    Quality wireless lavelier mics

Hi guys, Just after thoughts on the Sennheiser EW112p G3 wireless lavs? I know nothing about sound but am looking for hire options for a set of wireless mics for my sound recordist. We'll be using them for car interiors (moving) and wide shots of an interior room. Thanks

Requesting a Music Clearance from a Record Label

Just a follow up guys ... Have been given permission from an independent record label to use some of their songs. I'll be writing the release form up myself, keeping it as clear and unambiguous as possible. Just two quick questions ... The record label is the publisher, yes? Should I have...

    Writing Your Own Music Clearance

Thanks for your feedback. I assume it's worth getting them to sign both Master Use and Synchronisation licences, rather than just have clearance that says I can use the music in my film? Apologies for being pedantic, I just want to make it as simple as possible. Thanks again.

    Writing Your Own Music Clearance

Hey guys, When clearing music from an unsigned band do you still need seperate sync and master use licences? The agreement has been for festival use only and I want the contract to be as simple as possible. Would something like ... I (composer/songwriter) give permission for the song titled...

Requesting a Music Clearance from a Record Label

Thanks for the reply ... I am very keen on one of the songs so think it's worth getting the festival rights and taking it from there. Are you aware of any "festival rights only" clearance forms? Thanks again.

Requesting a Music Clearance from a Record Label

Hi guys, I'm currently trying to secure the rights for two songs from medium-sized independent US labels for a feature I'll be shooting later this year. I've heard "festival rights" mentioned here and there, but did a search and couldn't find anything relevant. I'd be happy to accept festival...

How old/experienced were you when you made your first feature?

Hi guys, For those of you who have made a feature, I'm curious how old you were and what level of experience you had behind you. Feel free to elaborate on how long it took you, festival experiences, etc. I'd be interested to hear about people's experiences. As for me, I'm 23 and will be...

    First Feature - Pre-production

Hi guys, I'll be shooting my first feature in Sept/Oct this year and was looking for some advice on the best way to make my way through the thousands of things that need to be organised before shooting begins. A little bit of background info ... I'll be working with a very small crew: myself...

    Clothing brands copyrighted?

Thanks. It's not so much that I want the audience to recognise the song ... It's more that it fits the situation perfectly. I guess I could just make up a similar-sounding song and get away with it ... But a change of lyrcis isn't enough?

    Clothing brands copyrighted?

Thanks guys. It appears the best thing to do is just avoid logos. If you can just see "CELTICS" on the front of the jacket, that would be okay though, wouldn't it? I've got another sort-of related question that I've only been able to find conflicting information on the net about. Two of my...
