    HDV1080 and Avid

For informational sake, I figured out what was going wrong, and it turns out its Operator Error. I was trying to make AVID do something it just can't do, and remembering things incorrectly. AVID lacks the Codecs to properly import AVCHD 1080i. Now, the work around for this is to Capture the...

    Clearances for Public Authorities

Not exactly... Have a stroll through eBay, you can find genuine patches and badges for pretty much any department you can think of. Also, it is not illegal to posses badges or patches or a shirt that says Police. They become illegal when you attempt to use these items to portray that you...

Is there any certain policy for filming in a public area with prop weapons?

Please, Call the NON-EMERGENCY number for the department who has jurisdiction over the area.

    Please critique my story!

Seems a bit more than just a "synopsis." I'd classify it more as a Short Story.

    copy-write question

The only issue I could see you running into is copyrights the State or County (or whoever) holds on the logos of the Sheriff's department if you use it as-is. Beware also, though, of slander and libel laws which the State or County (again, whoever is the governing agency over the Sheriff's...

    Youtube Fail???

From what I've gathered, YouTube is having issues as of late with uploads. Sound problems, quality issues, etc. Somewhere I saw someone uploaded a video, and it was fine, but when you upped the quality to 720p to watch, the sound became MAJORLY distorted and unintelligible. Try it again, see...

    Stupid thinds we do

Built two 8x8 and two 4x8 foot wall sections for the interior set of a burned out house. Set them up on set, dressed the set with misc. scrap boards, ash, burned and melted household items and shot. Left after sunset, apparently not seeing a small bit of smoke from a smoldering box of old...

    HDV1080 and Avid

So far I've discovered; 1) I'm one of three people using this program who speak English.... 2) Avid all but denies the existence of "Avid Studio" and any inquiries into the problem are directed to Pinnacle Studio HD, which is different.... I'm not giving up on it though!

    HDV1080 and Avid

I re-read over some stuff over de-interlacing (while trying to find out how to open up my capture options, etc) and discovered that No, De-interlacing will NOT effectively reduce the footage shot to 540p, as was suggested to me in something i read very quickly. Derp. I also believe I've found...

    HDV1080 and Avid

Is Deinterlacing going to give me a redux in resolution as I keep hearing, or is this a myth? I'll keep it interlaced, if I can just get the 1080 resolution out of it. I had success with PinnacleHD pulling it off it full 1080hd, so maybe I'll keep messing around with it...maybe Avid is doing...

    HDV1080 and Avid

As far as I can tell there's no Progressive out put option with the FX7...and from everything I've read up on it, and done with it before, it will output 1080i, To be doing de-interlacing later on, separately fromt he camera. I don't know if avid is being the problem or if I messed up a setting...

    HDV1080 and Avid

I've searched around, I've done some looking, etc etc but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.... I have some footage I've filmed with my Sony HDR-FX7 and when I import it into Avid Studio, the largest option I have to import as is 720p. I've messed with some setting on the camera...

I feel like such an old man...

Blank expressions, faces that lie on the edge of the Uncanny Valley, all of them freak me out, something about them.... I remember this one short I was working on, and we were filming at this beautiful old farm house, which was owned by a friendly old widow. Well, about part way through the...

The Avengers used iPhone 4 for filming

I recall a story I was told by a Tesla Motors Rep when we filmed our review that a TV show doing a review had one of their techs hanging out the window "filming" B roll of the car driving from his iPhone, which made it to the show. And this was back in April/May, before the iPhone 4 came out I...
