The current script I'm working on spans the entire life of the protagonist.
Is it essential that the theme of the story be present in every scene?
Is it wasted story telling if you are showing how the person got from one point to the next if doesnt incorporate the theme?

Not to offend anyone (but I know this probably will, sorry) but personally I think alot of people who go to filmschool want to be involved in making movies but lack creativity or artistic vision. They need to be coached along the way. I'm sure someone is now gonna...

I'm looking at ND filters for the nifty fifty I'm picking up.

But what is a common filter to get for as far as how much light it blocks. I see all kinds on amazon from really dark to really light. Do I need more than one?
I'm shooting a sunrise with the Tokina 11-16mm lens on a T3i.
I am keeping the aperature at 50 and ISO at 200. So in order to not blow it out I have the f/stop cranked up to 18-20. Is this hurting the image?
Do I need a filter so I can shoot on a lower f/stop?
Thanks guys!!
I've got a nice B&W UV filter on my Tokina 11-16mm but now I am reading that perhaps a filter like this can effect the image quality. Wondering if I should take it off and see what a difference it makes?
I've also read the debate over simple protective filter vs. not is quite ongoing?
