Best Camera Stabilizer?? Steddiepod??

I've been looking around for a camera stabilizer and I was wondering what your opinions on this Steddiepod was?

Does anyone else have one?

I came across it at the WEVA expo last week and was blown away by the low price, versatility and function of it!

If you mean a steadicam, the best one is ... well, the steadicam. That makes sense since it's made by the guy who invented the thing.

Glidecam makes some pretty good stuff based on the same principles than the very first steadicam.

I do not know the steddipod.

Steadicam rigs are a little out of my price range, but I've messed with the glidecam and hated it...the balancing system and versatility of the Steddiepod seemed way more efficient and reliable than the glidecam systems.

For the price and function...

Steddiepod > glidecam

in my opinion...

Also checkout Justin's video about using a tripod as this type of steadycam replacement.

You might also want to look into the opteka steadyvid. It takes a TON of patience to setup properly, but can yeild good results.

That's not too bad! Although, I'm looking for something more stable, it's a clever idea!

I think I might be ordering that Steddiepod! Waiting for their new prototype "balance" fluid head that makes balancing easy and the pan/tilt is like butter! No need to tighten or loosen any knobs, it stays wherever you leave it! Truly incredible! Should be available in 4-6 weeks!
