First post here so hello all.
I just finished watching a pretty awesome BBC promo shot in Hong Kong. I understand how the hyper lapses are achieved but I'm trying to get how they managed the zoom effect (e.g boat to the crowd, into the taxi etc.). I've seen it on a few films now.

Is this an in-camera trick with combined transition, is it cgi... phew my head hurts.
