Youtube

I'm a complete rookie when it comes to Youtube, and I'm in the processes of uploading various videos I've shot over the past few years, especially fishing videos. I know that the quality wouldn't be very good once I put it on Youtube, however I'm not satisfied and curious if I can improve the quality, even if the file size must increase?

Example

Here is my process:
When I'm finished editing on FCP, I export using Compressor. Using compressor, I use Web>Streaming>Quicktime 7 Compatible>H.264 LAN Streaming.

Any suggestions on how to improve the quality on Youtube? Thanks.

Export in 1280x720 even if your Video is only SD-Quality. That way you force Youtube into converting your Video with their HD-Profile giving it more bandwith and in the end better Quality. Also try to get something above 3000kbits for the bandwith with two-pass-encoding enabled and make sure to deinterlace the video.
Otherwise you should be fine with the h.264 codec in the quicktime container.
