Writing Toolbox?

I am having a lot of fun putting this together on final draft (on the cloud) between ipad and iphone on the go lol, very cool to do!

Does anyone write with a toolbox of sorts? Meaning they pick a writing tool as they go, or do they write and edit later?
For instance I am utilizing English Comp analytical tools to write. My favorite is dramatic irony (a specific writing tool) along with many many more to compile the story.

Is there a writing toolbox for screenwriters they look to when an idea comes to mind?

Sort of like painting with different brushes and different paint...or no?

Had to ask!

Not when I write a first draft. Regardless of whether I outline first (which I always do when I'm hired for a project) or just seeing where an idea leads me, I push to go straight through the first draft.

When I work on subsequent drafts, I may focus on specific issues like adding humor or foreshadowing, making a specific character more interesting or complex, etc.
