Would you say that you are married to film making?

Film making is obviously not a 9 to 5 job. A lot of insane hours go into making a film. In big budget studio producctions, people have to go away for months to a couple of years and spend that time away from family and friends.

So, would you consider yourself married to film making?

Not yet, there's uni to worry about at the moment. But we are planning a divorce soon. So will be looking for anyone that catches my eyes.

I agree with you, MDM,

I just spent the last week putting in 14 hour days and I'm working all day today to wrap something up that's coming out during the holiday season so I know exactly what you mean.

Also, when Lord of the Rings was done, the sound engineers had to fly to New Zealand and worked that many hours in another country on the other side of the world from their home - so it's basically exactly what you said.

Really, Cracker?

I've done that. A few times. It never lives up to the expectations.
Oh sure, it's a lot of fun and maybe the next few days it's okay - a
little awkward, but manageable. But then it just gets nasty. She
says something to someone who changes the story a bit and talks
to someone who adds a little and tells someone else and the next
thing you know you're in the break room and she's throwing coffee
and shouting insults.

Now that I think about it - that is kinda like filmmaking.

Haha, perfect!

When I'm scoring a larger project, or one with a short turnaround time, my girlfriend has taken the opportunity to go visit her family. Hmmm.
