Wideangle Lens for an Sony A77

I've been using the starter lens which is pretty bad so I've decided to upgrade. I'm in the process of reading a bunch of reviews, watching loads of videos so i wanted to post the question. To those that have an A77 or a compatible model, what lens would you recommend for an HD shoot. For mainly video, but possibly photography.

Sony uses a Sony Alpha/Minolta lens mount. So you will need an
adapter to use different lenses.

Rokinon is a brand of lens. They offer different lens mounts including
the Sony A. But if you want to use the Canon EF or the Nikon F or
the Sony E you will need an adaptor. A prime lens is a fixed focal
length lens - different than a zoom lens.
