Where to buy equipment???

Is there a particular store/website that I should purchase video camera equipment from?

I'm for certain going to buy the infamous Panasonic DVX100, but on the side, does anyone own or use this camera? If so, how is it right out of the box?

The two places above are great. Before you buy any gear on-line, go to www.resellerrating.com. They have tons of feedback from people who've bought stuff and rate the sellers. B&H and EVS get high ratings. Some cheap sellers have really bad ratings. Remember if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Extras:

Batteries, two 4-5 hour life
Tripod, get one with claw-ball leveling
Case, portabrace, kata or pelican hardcase
Shotgun mic, Azden and Audio Technica make some under $300
Cables
Lens cleaning cloth, lens cleaning fluid

That's just some of the stuff you'll need.
