Where do you find people to collaborate with?

Hi all. I am a UK based filmmaker and I am struggling to find writers, actors and other filmmakers to collaborate with. I have nearly finished University and did a degree in film studies. Unfortunately nobody on my course actually wants to create films :no:

I made the leap two years ago and bought my own camera, tripod, boom and mic. Since then I have started my own production company and have been paid for a few projects such as documentaries. This is fine but I really want to shoot more narrative work!

I place a lot of online ads and reply to others. I offer my skills for free for gods sake and I still find very few people that want to create quality pieces of cinema.

The people who I have met are ok but never come through and the projects simply die either before they start or soon after. So my question is, where do you find people to collab with?

Wish I could help my UK brethren...but I'm in the States. I find people through social networks online...Facebook, Ning sites, etc...

Being in facebook will definitely help you and I think you can start with low buget films . Just my suggestion

And also,print out a poster of your film with all the info. and some incentives you can provide,like food and work that can go in an actors showreel,etc.
Take them to all colleges,universities and performance art centres you can find.
Also as suggested make a Fb and twitter page.

Somebody has to reply,and then ask them if they know someone who would want to work and so on...
