Adobe After Effects standard and Adobe After Effects Professional? I read the descriptions of both and asked some who have used one or the other, but they all say the same the thing about them.
What's the difference between these two Adobe programs?

I don't think there are two different versions anymore? There haven't been since CS3. Or is CS3 what you're asking about?
There's no such thing. There's only one version of After Effects CS5.5.
