What is the best film festival to get noticed/launch a career?

as the title says, I want to get my short film into some Festivals.

It's a serious project with a budget of around 1500 pounds.

Which ones would be the best to get noticed?

Preferably in the UK.

None, and I know you're gonna think I won't make it, but I need to know anyways.

It's a Sci Fi project.

I'd ring the British Film Institute and see which ones they think.

And try to get it into the Berlinale.

From Wikipeda: The three most prestigious film festivals are commonly regarded to be that of Cannes, Berlin and Venice.

I'd also consider Sundance and Toronto. Then again, it can depend on your genre and what you want to achieve.

There is no reason you won't make it. Doesn't mean it's going to be easy and doesn't mean you're not going to need some luck though. Good luck!
