What can you do with After Effects?

What can you do with after effects without buying anything from video copilot? Can you still make muzzle shots, glass/wall breaking, 3d effects, superpower effect (ex. energy ball), and more? Are the stuff from video copilot for people that aren't good at making effects so they try to make it easier by just giving the stuff you need?

Watch the video copilot tutorials to see the things you can do with AE. Many dont even use VC products. The VC "assets", explosions etc are fantastic, but you can find pretty good FREE versions at detonation films and other places on the web. Also, they give away stuff in the project files. Also.. right now they have FREE STOCK..

VideoCopilot is really the best thing going for AE self training.

suj321: Not sure if you're asking whether the explosions can be generated procedurally (ie. without using a clip), or simply whether or not they have to be purchased. But you might find this useful:
