What Camcorder would work well on a Mac?

I have a PowerPC Mac G5 and I haven't had much luck getting my firewire cable to work with it to the Mac, nor the USB port. I'm thinking about getting another camercorder, but I don't know what would be a good one that will be recognized by the Mac? I'm looking to mainly shoot in DV since that seems to be the less troublesome format.

I'm looking at spending perhaps between $100 and $200 dollars.
