Vincent Laforet and Alex Buono seminars

I attended Alex Buono's workshop and it was great. I got a lot more out of the night seminar than the day workshop (in as much as I already knew a lot of the 'tricks and tips' that were being shown) but IMO it's always good to watch Cinematographers light, and it's always good to cover old ground when it comes to lighting.

Depends what you're looking to learn really as to how much you'll get out of it. If you're a Production Designer, you'll get less out of it. If you're a Hollywood Cinematographer you'll get less out of it than someone who's just starting out. If you're a newbie who doesn't even own a camera yet, you'll get less out of it than someone who has at least a basic knowledge of camera and lighting.

I'd agree with jax - went to buono's workshop and enjoyed it, but honestly could have taught most of it myself. The evening portion was more useful to me, but it felt a little rushed - I would have preferred to spend more time on that part going into more detail. I went with a few friends who had less experience than I and they all felt it was really worth it, so you probably just have to make the call on your own experience level.
