Video to Still Image Sony Vegas Platinum 9?

You're trying to take a capture of a single frame, yes?
I use Pro 8, but it may be the same.
Just above the preview window there is a small bar with lots of icons. One of the icons with capture the frame. I think it's the one that looks like one rounded square inside another.
In my experience it doesn't produce a very hi-res image, though. But I've never tried to play around with settings.

I have never used sony vegas before and dont know much about that but as after effects user i guess you must have some option in render setting that you can choose any image format ant than render your video which will make you render in image sequence.
