editing VFX Workflow

Hi!

I know that everyone has his own way to do visual effects, but is their a more proper way?

I 'm working in a short-film, and I am now in the post-production stage. I wonder what should I do first!
I´ve done some noise reduction and a primary color correction. Now I must do two things: a dramatic day night conversion and in some of the shots I've to track a face in order to replace it, and maybe some fog.
My question is what should I do first, the grading or all the visual effects?

Effect always goes before the final grade.

You can do a 1 light so you know how to present the effect, but you never do any final grading before adding an effect.
