UK Crowdfunding

Asking for money is legal,

As it is a non commercial film, there is no profit being made by the film makers, crew and cast - of course expenses have to be paid - on a project this big I wouldn't expect everyone to turn up each day if they are going to be out of pocket (fuel, food etc).

I am fully aware we will not be able to 'sell' copies of the film after its production but people are still able to watch it and I am free to 'give' a physical copy to anybody who wishes to see it.

thanks for your question.

just to let you know, that technicalities mean, that your asking for money to fundraise your project, however your offering Products for a return of money, this is classed as earning, so not only do you have to tell the taxman, your technically selling...

ask hmrc if you don't believe me.. :)
